California Overtakes New York With Coronavirus Cases


California surpasses New York state in confirmed virus cases
California is hoping to ease the surge of COVID-19 cases.

According to John Hopkins University, the state of California has now surpassed New York with the most confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 409,000. 

New York still has the most confirmed number of deaths with 32,500 while New Jersey, despite being the 11th most populous state in America, is 2nd with 15,700.

California recorded 12,807 cases on Tuesday and 115 people passed away. 

State Governor Gavin Newsom said, "It's another reminder, if we needed to remind anybody, of the magnitude of impact that this virus continues to have."
