In a resilient comeback led by James Harden's 49 points, the Houston Rockets outscored the Dallas Mavericks, 31-20 in the fourth quarter after trailing for most of the game. Overtime was forced when Rockets Forward Robert Covington tipped in a Harden missed three pointer with 3.3 seconds left.
"We wanted to stay with it and give ourselves a chance at the end of the game. We did that. Our confidence defensively was building, especially in that fourth quarter. We kept pushing the tempo, kept fighting.", Harden said. The current leading scorer in the NBA scored 7 points in OT to help Houston capture the win.
Luka Doncic, young Mavs sensation put up a 28 point triple double but shot one for nine from 3. Kristaps Porzingis followed up with a 39 point, 16 rebound performance while Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. combined for 55 points.
Dallas Coach Rick Carlisle said "This is a tough loss. This is as tough as it gets, and it just comes down to basic execution.
Rockets guard Russell Westbrook kept his team going by adding 31 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals.
