On June 1st 1980, CNN made its debut as the worlds first 24-hour news network from its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
The first broadcast was anchored by married couple David Walker and Lois Hart.CNN is now seen in over 90 million American homes and more than 160 million households internationally.
