On This Day in 1969, NASA's Apollo 11 mission to the moon begun as the Saturn V rocket that contained Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Kennedy, Florida 9:32 A.M EDT.
The astronauts would become the first humans to step foot on the moon four days later.
