A 33-year old woman from the Namisindwa District in Uganda, was admitted on July 5 to a hospital where she was treated for pneumonia after suffering from COVID-19 symptoms. Unfortunately, she has passed away said the country's Ministry of Health.
There were 30 people that she was recently in contact with and they have all been placed under quarantine for 14 days where they will be tested for the virus and monitored closely.
"The listed contacts so far include family members, and healthcare workers. The process of contact identification and listing is still ongoing, and we believe the number of contacts may increase as the extensive epidemiological investigation evolves," the ministry added.
Uganda has done a lot to prevent the spread of the virus as they were one of the first African countries to impose a travel restrictions and announce a complete ban on large public gatherings.
1,079 people have tested positive for the Coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.
May she rest in perfect peace.
