According to Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, the country has signed a deal with AstraZeneca to provide free COVID-19 vaccines to all citizens.
The British-based pharmaceutical company is producing the potential vaccine at Oxford University.
"The Oxford vaccine is one of the most advanced and promising in the world, and under this deal, we have secured early access for every Australian....If the vaccine proves successful, we will manufacture and supply vaccines straight away under our own stream and make it free for 25 million Australians.", Morrison said in a statement.
AstraZeneca has also signed deals with the U.S.A, China, Brazil and the European Union.
