On This Day In 1977, British Journalist David Frost conducted the first of twelve interviews with former United States President Richard Nixon.
The first episode that focused solely on Nixon's Watergate scandal drew 45 million viewers, which was a record at the time.
For the series of interviews, Nixon was paid $600,000 and received 20% of all profits.
