In the honor of College Basketball's March Madness, today's Sports Throwback features a landmark moment in history.

66 years ago, the Texas Western Minors upset the University of Kentucky on the way to their first national championship. It was the moment of a lifetime as they would also become the first team to start five Black players in the NCAA championship game.

Haskin's fired his team up by telling them that Kentucky head coach Adolph Rupp said his team would not lose to a full African-American lineup.

David Lattin, Joe Hill, Willie Worsley, Orsten Artis and Harry Flournoy were the starting five. Kentucky would feature future NBA hall of famer Pat Riley.

The Minors won the game 72-65.

In 2006, Disney would release about the events of this moment titled 'Glory Road'. The film won the ESPN for Best Sports Movie
