Season 2 of Africa's First Legal Drama Series, 'Castle & Castle' is now streaming on Netflix and viewers are in for a rollercoaster.⁣

The legal drama is set in a law firm run by a successful married couple whose marriage comes under strain when both Remi (Dakore Ebuson-Akande) and Tega (Richard Mofe-Damijo) decide to represent different sides of the law. ⁣
Speaking on the return of Castle & Castle, Mo Abudu, EbonyLife says, “We are tremendously excited about bringing audiences the sequel to Africa’s first legal drama series, Castle & Castle, along with our partners, Netflix. Entertainment News: Steph Curry's Unanimous Media & Comcast NBCUniversal Sign Multi-Year Global Talent Partneeships Deal

NBA star Stephen Curry and his Unanimous Media production company have signed a broad talent deal with Comcast NBCUniversal.⁣

The multi-year deal is being billed as its first-ever “global talent partnership.” Although financial terms of the deal were not given, according to Variety, it is valued “in the eight-figure range with a potential upside from producing fees on green-lit content.”⁣

The deal includes a host of first-look development opportunities across Comcast’s portfolio, including Universal Studios Group for scripted and unscripted TV projects, DreamWorks Animation for kids and family content and creative and on-camera contributions at NBC Sports.⁣

Curry said Unanimous’ goal “has always been to create content that is not only entertaining, but also uplifting and inspirational. It’s incredible to imagine all the different ways we can make this vision come to life by incorporating all the amazing assets across Comcast NBCUniversal’s portfolio that has a footprint in all areas of media and entertainment.”⁣

Entertainment News: Anthony Mackie Will Star In Disney's "Captain America 4"

Anthony Mackie's 'Avengers' character "Sam Wilson" aka "The Falcon" will team up with writer and creator Malcolm Spellman to deliver 'Captain America 4' for Disney.

Director Kari Skogland and Script Writer Dalan Musson will also be on board for their duties as Marvel enhances Mackies influence in the fourth 'Captain America' installment after Chris Evans starred in the prior films.

Malcolm Spellman has also put together a team of majority Black writers to further bring the Black experience front and center to the superhero genre.

Beloved sitcom 'The Golden Girls' made a comeback last night as it was re-enacted with an all-Black cast as the debut episode of  'Zoom Where It Happens' series.

The episode starred Tracey Ellis Ross, who played Betty White's character "Rose", Alfred Woodard as Estelle Getty's "Sophia", Sanaa Lathan as "Blanche" who was played by Rue McClanahan and Regina King as Bea Arthur's "Dorothy."

The event raised awareness for social justice. 

The 'Zoom Where It Happens' series will continue weekly with a host of different actors until Election Day.

According to Forbes, Tyler Perry is now apart of the Billionaire club. 

Here is the breakdown of his earned wealth: Perry's studio is valued at $280 million. $320 million come from his library of created work such as movies, plays and shows. $300 million from investments and cash. $40 million from homes, planes, cars, etc and $60 million from his BET streaming service steak. All of this adds up to $1 billion.

Cast of 'The West Wing' To Reunite On HBO Max To Benefit Voter Participation

For a one-time special, 'The West Wing' cast are going to reunite to support Michelle Obama's "When We All Vote" organization with an episode for HBO Max. 

Original cast members Dule Hill, Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford and Janel Moloney will all reprise their roles for a stage theater presentation of the show's 3rd season episode called "Hartsfield's Landing." 



The 2002 episode focused on a small town's voting results in New Hampshire and tensions between the USA & China over Taiwan.

A Los Angeles theater will host the event and it will be directed by Thomas Schlamme, who was the Executive Producer of the prime NBC series.

'The King of Staten Island' writer-star and 'Straight Outta Compton' actor have teamed with STXfilms and producer Kevin Hart for new dramedy movie 'American Sole.'⁣

The film follows two young adults with mountains of college debt who use the fast cash of after-market sneaker reselling to achieve their American dream. But they run out of money and find that a shady investor is their only way out.⁣

NBA Star Chris Paul along with Jake Stein are also set to produce the film.

A release date is yet to be announced.⁣

The NBA star's SpringHill Company is behind the exclusive Netflix series 'The Playbook,' featuring in-depth interviews with top coaches.⁣

'The Playbook: A Coach's Rules for Life,' will profile several championship-winning coaches as they share the rules they live by to achieve success in sports and in life.⁣

Subjects for the show include Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers; World Cup-winning former U.S. Women's National Team coach Jill Ellis; José Mourinho, the highly acclaimed Football manager; tennis great Serena Williams' coach, Patrick Mouratoglou; and hall of fame basketball player and University of South Carolina women's coach Dawn Staley.⁣

The show will premier September 22nd.⁣

While the future of Tik Tok in United States of America is up in the air, the booming social media platform announced its first musical distribution partnership.

United Masters will help artists on Tik Tok find ways for their music to go viral while also giving them the ability to distribute their songs to major streaming services such as YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

Ole Obermann, the global head of Music at TikTok said in a statement, "TikTok artists who are creating music in their bedrooms today will be featured in the Billboard charts tomorrow."

New Netflix Original Comedy "Sneakerheads" Coming In Sept

A new six-episode comedy series called Sneakerheads has officially been picked up by Netflix. It will star Allen Maldonado from Black-ish and Andrew Bachelor, the actor and internet personality known as "King Bach". 

The creators are screenwriter Jay Longino and Complex Networks.

The series is about a sneakerhead who loses some money after his friend's get rich scheme goes wrong. In order to get his money back before his wife finds out, he seeks the help of other sneaker fanatics on the mission for a special pair of shoes.

Sneakerheads is set to begin on September 25th.

Princess Diana Musical To Hit Netflix Before Broadway

Due to Broadway being shutdown because of COVID-19, Diana: A New Musical will premiere on Netflix next year instead.

The show was planned to begin at the Longcre Theatre on March 31st but had to halt production due to the lockdown. The Broadway opening is now set for May 25, 2021.

"We speak for the entire company when we say that we couldn't be more excited to finally be able to share our show with theater lovers everywhere. Though there is no substitute for the live theater, we are honored to be a part of the quality entertainment that Netflix provides its subscribers worldwide.", the producers said in a statement.

A date for the Netflix premiere has been revealed yet.

The Netflix showing will showcase the original Broadway cast which includes Jeanna de Waal as Diana, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles and Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth.

The film will be based on the novel 'Mahalia Jackson' written by Darlene Donloe.⁣

Along with Queen Latifah and Jamie Foxx, Holly Carter and Shakim Compere will produce. ⁣

Mahalia Jackson was a three time Grammy Award winner and the first Gospel singer to perform at Carnegie Hall.

Nick Cannon Is Reportedly Suing ViacomCBS For $1.5 Billion

Since 2005, Nick Cannon has been Wild 'N Out's main face.

Nick Cannon was fired by ViacomCBS last month after comments he made in an interview were called anti-Semitic. 

According to sources, he is planning to take legal action and sue the company he previously had been with for 20 years, for $1.5 Billion. That price total is an estimation of worth for his time on MTV's Wild 'N Out. 

ViacomCBS owns MTV.

Cannon's camp said in a statement, “From the platforms he provides for other entertainers, the jobs he creates for Black youth, the time he gives to mentoring incarcerated men and women, to the money he gives back and puts into communities, homelessness, and people less fortunate. He is constantly evolving both spiritually and mentally, as well as, taking action in learning, education and bridging the gap within the Jewish and African American communities, so that it will allow us to build relationships, work together and learn from each other in order to move forward in equality.”

Nick Cannon reportedly wants to use the money from the lawsuit to invest in education, the youth and psychological programs.

Will Smith, Quincy Jones and Benny Medina are collaborating to create a more dramatic and serious version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air based on a trailer by fan Morgan Cooper that went viral.

The 4 minute YouTube video (see below) showcased the hit sitcom as a drama of a rich family in Los Angeles having their teenage relation move in. 

According to reports, the drama will be known as Bel Air and has been in development for a year plus. Morgan Cooper will also write, direct and producer while The Wire's Chris Collins will be on-board as producer as well.

The show is currently in a bidding war with multiple streaming companies.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ran from 1990-1996, helped turned Will Smith into a Hollywood star and has maintained immense popularity in pop culture though syndication and recent streaming.

Antonio Banderas is now the latest actor to reveal that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.

In an Instagram post today The Mask of Zorro actor said, "Hello everyone, I want to make public that today, August 10, I am forced to celebrate my 60th birthday following quarantine, having tested positive with Covid-19 disease. I would like to add that I feel relatively well, just a little more tired than usual and confident that I will recover as soon as possible following the medical indications that I hope will allow me to overcome the infectious process that I suffer and that is affecting so many people around the planet.I will take advantage of this isolation to read, write, rest and continue making plans to begin to give meaning to my 60th year to which I arrive full of enthusiasm. A big hug to everyone."

Among the other movie stars to test positive for the virus were Idris Elba, Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, Alyssa Milano and Mel Gibson.

The action film, The Tax Collector directed by David Ayer and starring Shia LaBeouf, generated $317,000 at the box office as it debuted in 129 theaters in the United States over the weekend.

At a mix of drive-in venues and traditional theaters the movie brought in an estimated $2,500 from each location.⁣

Next weekend, the film will expand to more drive-ins and brick-and-mortar theaters that have reopened.⁣

There are currently 1,195 movie theater locations open in North America, and of those, 229 are drive-ins.⁣
