Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said on Thursday that the social media company is actively looking for ways to make money from its account holders. This comes as Twitter has seen a steep decline in advertising.

Second Quarter ad revenues for Twitter were $562 million which was a 23 percent drop from 2019. This has come due to the Coronavirus pandemic and many advertisers participating in the boycott of social media after protests for racial injustice sparked.

"You will likely see some tests this year....We want to make sure any line of revenue is complementary to our advertising business.", Dorsey said on a investor's call to analysts.

After the earning numbers were released shares of Twitter went up by 4 percent in trading on Thursday.
