Redstone was also a lawyer who served as 1st lieutenant in World War II.

"My father led an extraordinary life that not only shaped entertainment as we know it today, but created an incredible family legacy,” Shari Redstone said in a statement.
The Redstone family are majority voting shareholders of ViacomCBS, the parent company of CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Miramax Showtime Networks, Comedy Central and more.
"Content is king!" was his phrase as he believed the ability to create content would become more important than distribution tactics.
Redstone also donated over $150 Million to many causes
He was 97 years-old and is survived by two children.
