'The Richard Pryor' show was unapologetic. (c) imdb |
The second episode of 'The Richard Pryor Show' on NBC in 1977 featured Pryor as an archeologist in Egypt who discovered that Black people were the designers and creators of many brilliant achievements.
In closing, the European archelologists would then lock Pryor in the cave therefore preventing him from spreading his findings and discoveries. This hilarious comedy show only lasted four episodes. Many questioned why NBC would purposely decide to put one of television's most authentic shows and raw comedians in the middle of "Family Viewing Hour" on Tuesdays.
It also starred Robin Williams, John Witherspoon, Tim Reid, Marsha Warfield, Paul Mooney, Sandra Bernhard, Vic Dunlop, Edie McClurg and Allegra Allison.
