Stevie Wonder & David Frost in 1972
(c) Genius
Stevie Wonder is a world-class musical genius who can play virtually any instrument but his demonstration with the talk-box was extremely distinctive.
In 1972 on The David Frost Show, the then 21-year-old superstar performed a musical medley while using the talk-box to sing. This was an entire decade before music pioneer Roger Troutman made the instrument famous for its tech and robotic sound.
The talk-box is a unit that allows musicians to modify the sound of their instrument and shape the frequency content of its sound.
Check out Stevie Wonder singing The Jackson 5's "Never Can Say Goodbye" and The Carpenters's "Close To You.
