Xavi Hernandez took to his Instagram to announce that he has tested positive for Coronavirus.

The current manager of Al Sadd in the Qatar Stars League was expected to join his team in competition as they face Al Khor but the coach of the Al Sadd reserves, David Prats will lead the team on his behalf.

The 40 year old Spanish legend said he was not experiencing any symptoms at all but will self-isolate until he has fully recovered.

"A few days ago, following the QSL (Qatar Stars League) protocol, I tested positive in the last COVID19 test. Fortunately, I’m feeling ok, but I will be isolated until I am given the all clear. When the health services allow it, I will be very eager to return to my daily routine and to work. I’d like to thank all the authorities, especially those working in [the] QSL, [the] QFA (Qatar Football Association) and [at] Al-Sadd for supplying the means of early detection, reducing the spread of infection and that guarantees the normal development of the competition. Take care and see you soon on the football pitch! ⚽”, Xavi said on his Instagram page.

Last month he told Sport, "I've said it a lot of times but I want to take footballing decisions at Barcelona....The biggest hope I have now is to be Barca coach and get Barca back to winning ways."

"The Greek Freak" second signature shoe expects to be a hit.

NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo's second signature shoe debuts today. The kicks known as "Naija" will be donned with the same colors of the Nigerian football national team.

During "The Greek Freak's" MVP campaign last season, Nike gave him his first signature shoe called the Nike Zoom Freak 1 and while in the midst of another fantastic season, many fans speculated on the next release of his shoe.

Repping his ancestral home of Nigeria, the shoe was inspired by the “boundless potential, youthful exuberance and infectious charisma” that fuel the country's national pride and to also pay homage to the Super Eagles National Team.

"Giannis's late father, Charles, bonded with his sons through the beautiful game, furthering Giannis's own passion for the sport. This bright-hued homage nods to that connection by dressing the silhouette in the same colors and textures that grace the kits of the Nigerian National Team. The result perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Naija: audacious, fast, fun and stylish.", Nike's website said.

The shoe will be sold worldwide for $130 USD.

Former Barcelona & Manchester City Great Yaya Toure Joins 4th Division Leyton Orient

Imagining a Barcelona Team If They Had Not Sold Yaya Toure to ...
Toure was a key member of Barcelona's incredible success in 2009.
(c) bleacherreport

Yaya Toure, the three time Premier League title holder, Champions League and African Cup of Nations Winner is now training with fourth division Leyton Orient in London for two weeks.

But that doesn't matter much to him. "I just want to enjoy it until the last minute, because football for me is everything.", Toure said.

Due to being unable to travel, the London resident is training with the club to maintain fitness until he can go abroad to resume his career.

The midfielder was recently signed with Qingdao Huanghai, a Chinese Super League team.

One Orient fan asked "What have we gotta do to get Yaya Toure to sign for the Os? I know he's probably only there to keep his fitness up, he's not "on trial" but it'd be bloody awesome if there was a way to convince him to sign."

Toure won the Premier League in 2012, 2014 and 2018 after signing with Man City Barcelona, where he was an integral member of the 2009 UEFA Champions League winners and two La Liga champion squads.

Twitter To Explore Subscription Models As Revenue For Ads Drop

A Brief History Of Twitter's Executive Departures | TechCrunch
Twitter headquarters in San Francisco, California
(c) techcrunch

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said on Thursday that the social media company is actively looking for ways to make money from its account holders. This comes as Twitter has seen a steep decline in advertising.

Second Quarter ad revenues for Twitter were $562 million which was a 23 percent drop from 2019. This has come due to the Coronavirus pandemic and many advertisers participating in the boycott of social media after protests for racial injustice sparked.

"You will likely see some tests this year....We want to make sure any line of revenue is complementary to our advertising business.", Dorsey said on a investor's call to analysts.

After the earning numbers were released shares of Twitter went up by 4 percent in trading on Thursday.

Robert E. Lee High School In Virginia To Be Renamed After Civil Rights Icon John Lewis

Civil rights icon John Lewis released from hospital - CNNPolitics
U.S Congressman John Lewis died last Friday at 80.
(c) cnn

The Fairfax County School Board in Virginia have voted in favor of renaming Robert E. Lee High School after late Rep. John Lewis. The change will go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year.

Board Chair Ricardy Anderson said in a statement, “Rep. Lewis was a champion of the Civil Rights movement, and our Board strongly believes this is an appropriate tribute to an individual who is a true American hero...We will also honor his life’s work by continuing to promote equity, justice, tolerance and service in the work that we do.”

Lewis was the last surviving member of the group that organized the 1963 march on Washington and the key figure in the 1965 Selma march, where he lead a group of 600 across the Edmund Pettus bridge. In what was known as "Bloody Sunday", the civil rights icon suffered a fractured skull after being beaten by Alabama state troopers.

The decision comes after many activists and officials have called for all confederate representations and monuments to be taken down.
